I realized earlier that I barely talk about myself at all on this little blog of mine. I go to everyone else's blogs, and I see people sharing their lives with the world. That's impressive to me. Maybe I am just a litle intimidated about letting it all hang out for the world to see, or maybe I'm just too boring.:) Either way, I figured I'd share a story about a paranormal experience I had many years ago.
When I was in 9th grade, I was witness to something I can only describe as a UFO. Ever since that night I have been totally and completely convinced that we are not alone in the universe. I had a friend sleeping over my house that night, which I'm grateful for because I have a witness to this story. (I wish I still kept in touch with this kid, because its hard to convince people what happened, happened.) It was around 3:00 AM, and we were talking, shooting the shit, and all of a sudden my room slowly filled with bright white light. My curtains were drawn, and my room was pitch black and then all of the sudden I could see everything in the room. The white light dimmed in, like a halogen lamp turning on, until the whole room was lit up. It was so bright. I remember being able to read my posters on the wall. It was as if a search light was being shone into my bedroom window. I was completely paralyzed with fear. When the light reached its brightest point, it began to fade away, dimming just as it had started. But here's the part that scared the bejesus out of me. The room started getting darker from the floor to the ceiling towards the window, as if whatever made the light was moving away and up into the sky. After the room became dark again, I freaked out. So did my friend. You see I lived in the woods in Upstate NY, and we had a 1/4 mile driveway, far from the road. We were totally secluded. My bedroom faced the woods, and no one lived out there. If I had heard any sound, I could easily have ruled it out to a plane or a helicopter. And that would have been a stretch. But there was total silence when it happened. I woke up my Mom and Dad that night and made them go outside with me to look around the house. They were only convinced I saw something because we were losing it. And my friend was really jarred by it. I couldn't sleep well for weeks. My friend never came over my house again. And when I would see him years later, he would refuse to talk about it. Well that's my story. I know it sounds crazy. But the truth shall set you free. Has anything paranormal ever happened to you??

I was watching American Idol earlier at my friend DLo's house, and I was disgusted to see that the stupid red headed kid is still in the competition. [b]Why?!? [/b]American youth, you are a bunch of little retards if you think he is good. Honestly. He [u]can't [/u]sing. At all. Case closed. So what is going on, people? Even "crazy face" Justin Guarini can sing!

But this kid fucking SUCKS! I just don't get it! I feel crazy watching people applaud for this kid. Yeah, I know he was really "teriffic" and half way decent when he did the Frank Sinatra song in the beggining of the competition, but that shouldn't count. "New York, New York" is a great song, but "Old Blue Eyes" had no problem singing it totally fucking hammered every night, and got the standing O every time. Once they gave this kid a real song, he fell to pieces. American youth, please listen. Do [u]not [/u]vote for this kid. By reinforcing his belief in himself that he is actually good, you are doing more harm than good to him. For his own sake, vote him off now. He will be better off knowing he is the worst singer in America. That way. he won't waste time pursuing his false dreams. I would much rather see William "no regrets" Hung win this thing. But he is a winner already, and he didn't need to win some suped up version of Star Search to become an American Hero. [u]And[/u] he landed a record deal. So do it, Idol watchers. Pick up your phone and dial that shit to vote his smirky ass off. Recon, Out! :D

We live in a world where TVs and computers spend more time with us than our friends and families. I spend alot of time staring at a monitor, whether at work or home. When I need a break from the computer, I go to the TV to look at another screen. I like to read, especially if I can download an ebook and upload it to my PDA so I can look at yet another screen. Its good to look at something from the outside world now and again. This site had streaming footage of nature, and sunsets and stuff like that. Nice for those times when your brain is fried and you can't do anything but stare into the warm glow of the computer screen..

Many years ago, I went on a trip to my friend Victor's house in Vermont to go skiing. The trip was fun, and I can't remember how the skiing was. But I do remember this. This is something I will [b]never[/b] forget. One night me and Akida were staying up late watching television, bugging out, and we turned it on to this show called "Reel Wild Cinema" hosted by Sandra Bernhardt. The show had clips of crazy old movies. And then it happened. I saw the most frightening things I've ever seen in my life. And that is no exaggeration. I think if I had been a small child and seen these things I would have grown up totally crazy. They seemed to be old trailers for surreal fairy tales made in the 60's. My recollection of what I saw is hazy at best, because the things on the TV were overwhelmingly bewildering and evil. And Akida can back me on that one. Towards the end, we were yelling and screaming and covering our eyes. It was like nothing I have ever seen to this day. It was as if the television became a portal to the 7th level of hell. There were two trailers we watched: "Tomb Thumb and Red Riding hood and the Monsters", and "Puss in Boots". All I remember is seeing monsters and dwarves and giants and lots of creepy creatures I can't explain. I vividly remember Puss In Boots having a sword fight with some kind of hellish creature and the action seemed to be filmed in reverse and played forward. Normally that would be awesome, but this time it felt wrong. I really felt like Alex in A Clockwork Orange being tortured in that chair. Eventually it all ended, but for so long I wanted to know what the hell it was that we watched that night. Well I found it. The films that we saw clips of were done in the 60's buy a Director named K Gordon Murray. According to the main site, there was a satanic cult that would watch his movies and perform rituals to them. Well I can tell you honestly that this isn't a surprise to me. Just read some of the reviews. Here's a little bio from the website:
K. Gordon Murray was a Florida-based producer and distributor of low-budget motion pictures. From the late 1950's through the mid 1970's, Murray released approximately 66 films, which can be broken down into three categories:
1/ Murray imported, redubbed and released some 30 horror films, primarily from Mexico.
2/ Murray released over 20 fairy tale films to a "Weekends Only" matinee audience, virtually creating the highly lucrative "Kiddie Matinee" marketing niche. These films were either redubbed imports, rereleases of older films, or original productions.
3/ Murray released about a dozen exploitation films, risque adult dramas designed both for drive-ins and adults-only grindhouses. These included imported foreign films and original productions.

Hi, my name is Recon, and I'm a blogaholic. Its been 5 days since I last posted. | The Black Hole: A Movie Review |

Once upon a time, the Disney Corporation made bizarre movies. All that has changed. Now all they do is release movies about horses that sound like Matt Damon. Or at best, rehashed, watered down versions of their older movies, where Cinderella is a skateboarder or something. It's just ridiculous. Well in 1979, they made a movie that kicked my ass and still does. The Black Hole.

These are some reasons why it is awesome. Many internet nerds bash this movie as crap, but it's only crappy during a few parts, which are few and far between. So here are my reasons why this movie deserves some respect:
Reason #1- [b]It's about Black Holes[/b]. The scariest things in the Universe. A thing so powerful it can only be explained to Mortal men by a super genius with a robot voice in a Wheelchair.

Ernest Borgnine is a co star in the Black Hole, and he puts in a memorable performance as the astronaut guy who looks a little drunk and yells at people. You may remember Mr. Borgnine for his numerous film and TV appearances. I remember him fondly as "Dominic Santini" from the prolific and critically acclaimed television show Airwolf from the 1980's.

Now you may think back and remember them as being cool as hell, and maybe they were back then. But go back and watch it now and you will realize they are laughably horrible, pitiful robots. They have laser guns, which makes them slightly better, but they both look like flying retard cousins of R2 D2, except instead of making bleeps and whistles, they talk in obnoxious accents. One is named Vincent, and sounds like Mr. Belvedere. The other crappier one sounds like a drunk gold prospector from the 1800's.. Completely worthless. They are such pointless characters. But I believe they are only there to make the bad robot all the cooler.

This is the token madman that is on the ship that Ernest and company find. At first they trust him, but then he gets weird, and they suspect something is wrong. I think as soon as I got a look at that guy I would have been suspicious. Look at him! Such a baby petter..I would not leave my kid around old Dr. Reinhert, I tell you. Anyway, he is the bad guy because the crew he has on the ship have a dark secret...they are Zombies. Actually, undead people disguised to look like robots, or something like that. Another reason this movie is a classic; you get both zombies and robots in one package! Those Imagineers are true geniuses. They look like something out of a Kraftwerk show.

This game gets the coveted Gene Rayburn seal of approval. It's hard to explain, just play it and see. The creator was obviously some kind of blissed out Ecstasy freak. I bet he wore metal hats to keep alien transmissions from coming into his head. He must have been shit house crazy. Either way, this is a strange one. You are a flying dolphin eating coins and "event pills" all the while listening to rock in a language I can't figure out while a lady says things like "Eureka!" and "It's time for lunch!" I played it for about 30 seconds and it gave me a shooting, localized headache at the base of my skull. That gets it an A plus. The moral: drugs make you win!!

The tabloid said the self-help group cannot block the ads or take legal steps against the online casinos, which are based overseas. Gamblers Anonymous warns visitors to its Web site, www.gamblersanonymous.org.au,
not to open the casino ads and is trying to update the Web site so as to stop the ads.

Where was George Bush on 9-11? In light of the recent Condoleeza Rice testimonial, I have been thinking about 9-11 recently. I stumbled onto this article about George Bush's whereabouts on 9-11. As many probably know, Cheney was whisked away while George was kept on schedule, doing a public appearance at a school in Florida, presumably to save face and not create panic. I'm on the fence about conspiracies around 9-11. I really think America got caught with its pants down. Maybe the US knew something ahead of time, but I really doubt they were in on it as many may believe. In the spirit of Easter, I give you your monkey of the week. Happy Easter everyone. You know, I didn't realize it was Easter until my friend Victor told me earlier this week..crazy. Someone send me some candy so I can get wired off the sugar :shock: ..I saw Shaolin Soccer last night with some friends in the village, and to quote the internet nerds, OMFG. This movie had me LOL'ing and I almost ROFL'd as well. So sososo good..go see it..for those of you in NY, its playing at the Sunshine theatre. We saw a preview for a movie called "Napoleon Dynamite" which looked really funny as well.. So there was this super ironic film nerd couple sitting in front of us, and I swear they didn't even enjoy themselves. They seemed perturbed by our incessant laughter, as if they were there to study the angles and cinematograpy. People like that need a fucking wake up call. I'm a geek, but I enjoy the things I geek out on. I go to a bad ass movie like that and I'm like "holy shit! That movie kicked my ass!!" People like that go to a "film" and walk in with and scowl, and leave with a frown. And it isnt a movie to them, its "cinema". Fuck off. Put away the monacle and stop trying to be so grown up. So my new job has me working in Greenwich Village, NYC in the NYU area; the home of America's largest Ipod cult. All I see all day long is mop haircuts, ironic trucker hats, and dangling white bud earphones. I swear to God its these same damn people who drive around in their Irocs at 3 AM playing Miami Bass CDs and setting off car alarms to show you how "crazy" their systems are. Seriously guy, you're cool. Great, you have an Ipod. Big deal. While you're at it, you should wear a shirt that says "Steve Jobs screws me in the browneye" because that's what he's doing. I have one of the old Ipods, and the thing is about to die on me. The headphone jack is all messed up, and 50% of the time the tracks don't play. Well at least Ipods are cheap. Oh thats right! I paid 500 dollars for Apple to slap me in the face and call me a sucker! I am going to get a better, cheaper, and reliable mp3 player soon, and never look back. I'm convinced the apple design is what gets people. It got me. Look at the Ipod mini. Its only designed for showing off. They are making them smaller, cooler looking, and more colorful. This weekend was fun..partied it up both nights, but Sunday I had major brain pain. I felt like Checkov in Star Trek: the Wrath of Khan when Ricardo "too sexy" Montalban sticks that ill looking cockroach in his ear and makes him his zombie.. I feel like I'm getting old. I used to be able to leap over kegs in a single bound. Now a Zima gives me a hangover. What gives? I thought by power drinking for years I have earned the right to no longer feel the aches and pains of the night before. Oh well. My friend Akida "Junglefoot" Dawson came over on Sunday, and played me some awesome songs he wrote. When he gets a website I'll plug it. He is really good.. ( Star trivia: Akida happens to be the brother of international super star and media mogul Kimya Dawson of the Moldy Peaches). I LOL'd when he strummed his tunes. They rule. Anyway, We went to see the Rock movie "Standing Tall". Now I was a little skeptical after seeing "Scorpion King", but Akida told me not to believe the hype, so I didn't. And boy am I glad I went! This movie was a throwback to those good old vengeance movies that I loved growing up. You go into this movie, and after about 20 minutes of cliche story development, Rock starts laying the smacketh down on almost everyone he sees. I thought he was going to kick his family's ass at points. He is a maniac. Anyone he doesnt love he kills, shoots, or beats up. the movie has everything: a hot girl that looks like Britney except hotter (and not stupid like she tends to look), disgusting Steven Seagal-esque compound bone breaking, an shotgun fight in a living room, and a giant stick used to smash people.
